Resignation Notice

With regards to employment termination, beside the payment in lieu of notice, are any other payments to the employer valid? These other payments are stated in the employment contract.
e.g liquidated damages due to early termination of employmemt contract

As per Employment Act, notice of termination for both employer and employee must be equal, otherwise it will not be valid. I cannot think of what are the components of the liquidated damage for an employee who choose to resign, unless you have outstanding debts or bonds with company. In short, employer cannot "punish" employee who choose to resign. They aren't going to pay you more if you have been terminated right?
