Hospitalization Leave for Employee who has served for more than 3 months

My employee who has work for me for 4 months but under 6 months of probation was hospitalized for a week and given additional 1 week MC after that.During this period of time, I have to pay for a relief staff to work in his position. Do I still need to pay his salary in full for his days of absence? Can I use this as a reason to terminate him?

Employee is entitled to medical leave if he has served the company for minimum of 3 months, regardless of whether he is confirmed or not. Yes, you have to pay his salary as he is not absent but was given medical leave (Hospitalization Leave and Sick Leave). You may only review and assess his performance to consider terminating him contractually, by paying him 1-month salary.
